The Hotel
The is situated on the southern boundary of the Carmarthenshire seaside
village of Ferryside, which, in turn is on the eastern coast of the Tywi estuary some 8
miles south of Carmarthen. The hotel enjoys views of Llanstephan and its ancient castle on
the western bank and of Carmarthen bay towards Caldy Island, near Tenby. Ferryside is a
small hamlet that grew from the now non-operational ferry crossing on the river Tywi, once
linking Ferryside to Llanstephan. It is un-commercialised, peaceful and quiet; the ideal
get-away for a perfect weekend (or longer) break. There is however, an active community
that involves itself with yacht, sports and rugby clubs, two chapels, a Church and an Inn.
Situated within eight miles or a quarter of an hours drive of Ferryside
lies the county towns of Carmarthen, Kidwelly and its' Norman castle, Pembrey Country Park
and its motor sports centre, airfield and proposed horse racing course. Between half and
three quarters of an hours' drive will take you to Llanelli, the National Botanical
Gardens, Swansea, Laugharne (famous for the Dylan Thomas boat house), Tenby, Oakwood Theme
Park (incorporating the famous 'Megaphobia')and many more places of interest.
The hotel offers 14 rooms each room being en-suite and containing coffee
making facilities, T.V, and telephones.
